China produces pretty much every category in jewelry, from cheap fashion jewelry made out of cheap materials to the most precious stones and metals. From years of experience and continuous lab testing we can tell you that you generally get what you pay for, so if you pay for 18K gold, you are most likely to get 18K gold that is at least of 75% purity and most likely even a bit more.
Gold and silver are traded on the international market with very transparent pricing, the pure metal cost pretty much the same all over the world, precious metals are pretty much like currency, so unless there you’re not buying what you’re getting (read: fake or not up to standard) or the source is illegitimate (read: stolen and/or illegally mined) there is no way of getting the metal itself cheaper. The rest of the costs are determined by the manufacturing process and quality level of the final jewelry.
Not necessarily, China is a huge country with a very wide offering in terms of quality and craftmanship. Even though Akasia is located in China, we have our own way of doing things and that means that if the best technology or process is available in China, wel’ll definitely use it, but if not, we import it. For that reason, a big part of our equipment, machinery and consumables are imported from around the world including, but not limited Japan, USA and Italy and Germany, just to name a few.

According to our customers demands and budget, we can advise and apply any type of gold plating, from flash to vermeil, in many different colors and shades.
